A very colourful wedding at Addington Palace

On Saturday 18th August, the hottest day of the summer, wedding toastmasters, Jonathan and Nikki Curran, had the pleasure of officiating at the wedding of Steven and Emma Arinze at Addington Palace.

The glorious period building looked resplendent in the clear blue skies as did the guests, especially the visitors from Nigeria who lit up the event with their fantastically colourful dress. The Winter Garden and Great Hall were beautifully decorated and each table was finished with candelabra and crystals.  The exquisite 5 tier wedding cake at the end of the Great Hall took pride of place.

Emma Cassey and her team from the Palace worked very hard preparing and serving refreshments and food which was befitting for the occasion.

With evening drawing in and the temperature still in the 30’s outside Nikki (a Maitre Sabreur for the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or) oversaw Steven perform  sabrage (opening champagne with a sabre) alongside his new wife Emma.  Both families were delighted by the spectacle.

As the dancing began everyone appeared in colourful Nigerian clothing which had been given out as gifts by the groom’s mother.

What a hot, hot wedding day for everyone!!

The whole day was recorded for posterity by Ditch GreenPhotography and Anneka Ireland Videography – we are really looking forward to seeing the results.
