A first in Northen Ireland - The new Mr & Mrs McClelland sabrage a bottle of champagne

Northern Ireland is God’s own country and the perfect setting for a wedding.

On Saturday 8th September Your Toastmasters attended such an event at Portrush on the northern coast.

As guests began to arrive at Ballywilliam Presbyterian Church so did the aircraft that were displaying at the air show taking place the same weekend.  There is always something special about  the Red Arrows performing in the sky on your special day.

Before the wedding breakfast Nikki a Maitre Sabreur oversaw the groom sabrage (open champagne with style using a sabre) a bottle of champagne in front of his new bride and all the guests; and they all loved the spectacle.  Nikki was proud to introduce sabrage on behalf of the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or to the people of Ulster and looks forward to many more such occasions.

Dean & Joanne use our sabre to cut their wedding cake
The whole day was splendid and one of the highlights was the exceptional  speech by the best man that was enjoyed by all.

The Irish really know how to enjoy themselves and what’s more the sun shone as well!
