Event Coordinators In South East show off Margate to Essex Photographers!

Prospective vintage photo shoot!

On Sunday 22nd July Nikki & Jon had their event coordinator hats on and welcomed two Essex photographers (David Court & David Islip) to Margate.
As members of the Master Photographers Association (MPA for London & Essex) they were looking for prospective venues and locations for a photographic shoot.

They were impressed with the opportunities the area offers and visiting the Walpole Bay Hotel was one of the highlights.  Well that and having their photographs taken with the red arrows at TG Aviation.

Hopefully more members will visit later in the year!

The First Wedding at the Turner Contemporary

The First Wedding at the Turner Contemporary

The most amazing wedding took place at the Turner Contemporary on Saturday 21st July.

The bride & groom were married in the Clore Learning Studio in front of 90 guests who were mostly from the London area on their first visit to Thanet.

Your Wedding Toastmasters ensured they were welcomed and made to feel at home.

After the ceremony the bride and groom went for a short drive and on their return were entertained by an aerobatic display organised by Your Toastmasters & Event Coordinators.

The plane from Manston looked magnificent in the clear blue sky over Margate harbour.

The staff at the Turner Contemporary were excellent throughout the day and the meal was well received by all.

Your Wedding Toastmasters worked tirelessly to ensure the wedding ran smoothly on behalf of Emily & Mike and we were delighted that the day was such a success.

Groom’s practise sabrage for their day!

Groom’s set to impress on their wedding days!

Sabrage is becoming ever more popular and Nikki a Maitre Sabreur is more than happy to teach the skills required to open champagne with a sabre.

Two grooms at forthcoming weddings in July at the Courtstairs and Turner Contemporary have been taught and intronised at their homes so that on the day they can impress their family and guests.

Nikki is a proud member of the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or and is the only toastmaster in East Kent able to offer this unique service.

Bridal Way Ramsgate – the little shop with the big reputation

Yesterday we, Nikki & Jonathan from Your Toastmasters and Event Coordinators, dropped in to see Keeley Harrison at Bridal Way in Ramsgate.

What a wonderful outlet for brides to visit.

Inviting and comfortable surroundings make trying on the gowns such a pleasure.

Keeley has vast experience and is well worth contacting for all your bridal needs.

We enjoyed our time with her and are sure you will too.

Sabrage – where sword meets bottle - The Lansdowne Club London hosts a champagne evening

Sabrage – where sword meets bottle - The LansdowneClub London hosts a champagne evening

The opulent surroundings of The Lansdowne Club, off Berkeley Square in London, hosted a champagne evening with a difference for over 90 expectant guests.
The event was organised by David Court (courtoncamera) member of the Lansdowne Club and fellow Maitre Sabreur for the Confrerie du Sabre d'Or.

The art of sabrage – the opening of champagne with a sabre, is becoming more and more popular since its inception in France in 1815.

Now nearly 200 years later Nikki, Your Toastmaster and Maitre Sabreur, was part of a team of experts, from the Confrerie du Sabre d'Or, who love champagne spent the evening teaching others the noble art first begun by dashing French cavalry officers during the time of the Battle of Waterloo.

Nikki resplendent in her green cape and holding her flashing blade spent 3 hours instructing the guests on how to remove the cork and annulus with a single stroke.

The evening was a roaring success with over 90 bottles of champagne drunk.

With sabrage now available in many 5 star hotels these evenings will become more and more popular.  Nikki can’t wait to perform again.

Jonathan & Nikki Kent Toastmasters are more than just wedding toastmasters!

Jonathan & Nikki Kent Toastmasters are more than just wedding toastmasters!

The wonderful thing about being toastmasters and event coordinators is that you meet so many lovely people and get involved in organising occasions that are so enjoyable and worthwhile – let us explain how our last 2 weeks have panned out.

Here in Margate, in East Kent, the Turner Contemporary is already becoming as iconic art gallery and cultural centre but it is also a great wedding venue.

Jonathan & Nikki from Your Toastmasters Kent have the honour of officiating the first wedding at the Turner Contemporary on behalf of a lovely couple from London.

It is going to be very special and both the bride and groom and all their guests will have a memorable day on the coast in wonderful surroundings.

Talking of London, Your Toastmasters, who are more than wedding toastmasters, went to Catford to teach sabrage to a couple getting married in August.  Nikki a Maitre Sabreur for the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or used her skills to ensure the groom can open the champagne with panache on the day!

Sabrage is becoming extremely popular and Nikki is one of the few qualified Maitre Sabreurs in Kent and the South East of England who belongs to the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or and proudly upholds all the traditions that the Confrerie encourages.  Many clients are seeking her services for weddings, corporate events and private parties.

Closer to home, T.G. Aviation Manston and Thanet Flying Club hosted a Fun Fly and BBQ night and Your Toastmasters used their event coordinator skills to cater, run the bar and dress the venue.  Photographer David Court attended the event with his green screen technology – this is where photographs are taken in front of a green screen and a chosen backdrop can be added.  Images were sold on the night and raised money for the John Egging Trust.  We are sure you will agree the photographs are very different!   The event was a great success despite the inclement weather and wild wind grounding the planes for the duration.  However, one plane did get airborne and put on an amazing practice display of aerobatics.  The clubhouse at T.G. Aviation at Manston in East Kent is a wonderful venue and Your Toastmasters really enjoy working there.  Nikki & Jonathan will be celebrating the opening of the Olympics with Mark, Sue and their guests at their next event.
