How to make your special event that bit different!

Are you planning a wedding or organising a special occasion?  It can be hard work and sometimes it's good to have someone around to offer sound advice and support.

Have you considered contacting a toastmaster?  They can work with you to bring your dreams and ideas to life by being there for you on the big day working on your behalf.  With a toastmaster being your coordinator you will be able to relax and enjoy your special event.

Interested in the idea?  Then why not contact Your Toastmasters - Jonathan and Nikki for an informal chat.  You may be pleasantly surprised.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Eva brightens up our day.

Today we met Eva the wedding coordinator at Howfield Manor.  In our time as toastmasters we have met many wedding coordinators, however, Eva has been the most infectious we have met.  Her smile, warmth and love for her job shows in abundance.

Howfield Manor, Chartham Hatch, is a charming independent hotel near Canterbury.  It is a truly romantic venue.  Howfield Manor has a Civil Wedding Licence and an individual approach to planning a wedding. Their emphasis is to provide an informal and relaxed environment in which you can enjoy your special occasion may it be wedding, anniversary or birthday.

Howfield Manor has many facilities ranging from the Manor suite which can accommodate up to 80 people for a wedding breakfast, with access onto a small terrace, which can also accommodate a marquee.  The combination of function room and marquee allows for a larger evening event.

Then on to the historic wing of the house which is accessed privately by the bridal party along a lavender-lined pathway.  Inside the suite of rooms licensed for weddings.  These rooms overlook the gardens, which include a beautiful garden.  Small Civil ceremonies can take place here.

The grounds provide some beautiful photo opportunities, with the formal walled gardens or the wider grounds, some of which have views of the nearby lakes as a backdrop.  Seating areas tucked away in hidden corners also lend a romance and charm to your event.

Your Toastmasters are looking forward to continuing our new found relationship with Eva and Howfield Manor

In our role as Your Toastmasters we were very privileged to be shown around the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge by Tania Allin the Conference and Events Co-ordinator.

Canterbury Cathedral Lodge
Canterbury Cathedral Lodge is a fabulous, unique and contemporary purpose built venue for any special occasion and is set within the inspirational and beautiful grounds of Canterbury Cathedral

Whilst we were in the Cathedral Lodges beautiful Campanile private garden we were in awe of the Cathedral in front of us - we could almost reach out and touch it.  How spectacular to have this iconic building as the backdrop for your photographs!

Abode Hotel Canterbury for an intimate party or a large gathering.

Early this week Your Toastmasters visited the historic hotel - Abode Canterbury. The hotel is situated within the city's walls, only minutes from the stunning Cathedral. We were shown around the hotel by Natasha Doyle the hotels sales executive. The Abode offers elegant surroundings for a special occasion.  Whether you are celebrating with an intimate party of 10 or a larger gathering of up to 100 guests the Abode can offer you beautiful rooms for your wedding breakfast and ceremony.

Whilst the hotels wedding package offers one of their event managers to act as toastmaster Natasha was very keen to promote Your Toastmasters as the duties carried out by us are beyond what their event manager could offer.  Being trained by the English Toastmasters Association we offer a quality service and work on behalf of the bride and groom.  We go the extra mile in that we attend the ceremony as well as the reception.

We look forward to working with Natasha and the staff from the Abode.

Abbots Barton Hotel a lovely venue in Canterbury for any special occasion.

Your Toastmasters have been enjoying the weather this week.  We have been visiting several wedding venues in Canterbury.  The first was on Tuesday - we went to Abbots-Barton Hotel on the New Dover Road and met Sharne the wedding coordinator. The winding tree lined drive lead to an elegant period building.  The Cathedral Room offers views and direct access to beautifully landscaped gardens.  This is an idyllic setting for photographs. The Abbots Barton Hotel, in its tranquil setting of 2 acres of beautiful gardens, has excellent parking facilities and is just 10 minutes walk from Canterbury City Centre.

As members of the English Toastmasters Association we look forward to working alongside Sharne and her team.
